Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before starting your Russian classes. Still have a question? Message me on WhatsApp.

Is Russian hard to learn for Indian / Hindi speakers?

Russian has a different alphabet (Cyrillic) and grammar cases, so it takes some getting used to — but many sounds and sentence patterns feel surprisingly familiar to Hindi speakers. With a speaking-first approach and consistent practice, most beginners are forming basic sentences within the first few weeks.

How long does it take to become conversational?

It depends on how often you practise, but most dedicated learners reach a basic conversational level (A2) within 4-6 months of regular classes. One-to-one sessions tend to be faster since the pace is fully matched to you.

Do I need any prior knowledge of Russian to start?

Not at all. Most students start as complete beginners — we begin with the alphabet, pronunciation, and simple everyday phrases before moving into grammar and conversation.

What's the difference between one-to-one and group sessions?

One-to-one sessions are fully personalised to your goals, pace, and schedule. Group sessions follow a fixed weekly schedule with 3-6 students, which is more affordable and adds peer motivation and extra speaking practice.

Can I switch between course formats later?

Yes. Many students start with one-to-one sessions to build a foundation and then move to group sessions, or vice versa. Just message me on WhatsApp and we can adjust your plan.

What age groups do you teach?

I've taught students ranging from school-age learners to working professionals. Lessons are adapted to suit the age, background, and goals of each student.

Do you provide study materials?

Yes. You'll get vocabulary lists, exercises, and listening practice as part of your course. There's also an optional downloadable PDF of 500 essential beginner words available separately.

What happens if I miss a class?

For group sessions, recordings of missed classes are made available. For one-to-one sessions, we simply reschedule at a time that works for both of us.

How do I book a session or pay?

Message me directly on WhatsApp with what you're interested in — one-to-one, group, hourly, or the PDF — and I'll share current pricing, available time slots, and the payment link.

Is there a free trial or intro call?

Yes — every new student gets a free intro chat where we discuss your goals and current level, so we can figure out the best format and pace for you before you commit to anything.
